Equipping Kingdom Builders

The following are questions we receive frequently. We hope you’ll find these FAQs helpful.

What time should I arrive?
You should try and arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the event kick off at 8:30am. This will give you time to get through registration, browse the exhibitors, and enjoy a cup of coffee and a muffin.

What does the event schedule look like?
The following image shows the schedule for the day:

What about parking?

Most of our host church facilities offer great parking on a first come, first served basis. If your group will be traveling together via bus, please let us know in advance and we will properly instruct you. If you are attending our men’s conference event in San Francisco, please be prepared to take public transportation to the venue as parking is extremely limited.

My son is 10, not 13 – can he still come?
This one is really tough! There is a lot going on at one of our men’s conferences. It’s designed to be an adult oriented time for fellowship, learning, and quiet reflection in safe surroundings. We feel that 13 year old young men (and up) have a little better impulse control and are better equipped to make their way through a long day and not get bored. Men come to these conferences seeking something very specific – a word or a touch from Christ, strength from their fellow brothers, etc. and our desire is to foster an environment that delivers just that environment. However – you know this young man and we don’t…so we trust your decision!

Are there snacks and drinks available?
We do provide coffee, water and snacks (trail mix, fruit, etc.) before and during break times.

Can you help arrange transportation to and from the event?
Unfortunately many times, we are guests in the area and are unable to line up transportation. We encourage you to try and carpool with a brother from your church, a son/father/brother/uncle, and/or neighbor who can drive you.

Is prayer available throughout the day?
Yes, prayer is available at all times. Please visit the Ministry Alliance Network/R3 booth and a team member with either pray with you or will direct you to the prayer room/team.

I understand lunch is included in my registration – what is included?
Lunch is a special occasion at any of our men’s conferences! Ministry Alliance Network/R3 is proud to present the Grill Master Ministry! The Grill Masters will be out in full force – manning the grills preparing fresh tri-tip sandwiches with their own special marinade. Along with the mouth-watering sandwich, lunch also includes fresh green salad, a bag of chocolate chip cookies and a bottle of water. You’ll also find BBQ sauce along with peppers in your bag.

What if I don’t want my lunch?
Ministry Alliance Network/R3 scholarships dozens of men to each R3 event – if you don’t want your lunch simply let us know and we will give it to one of the scholarship recipients.

Do you offer a vegetarian lunch?
Yes – we will have a limited number of vegetarian lunches available at each event. We encourage you to let us know when you register so we can guarantee your lunch.

Do you offer a gluten-free lunch?
No, not at this time.

What should I bring?
Bring your Bible and a journal to use for notes. You will receive a conference bag containing conference details, a pen, and handouts from sponsors and perhaps seminar speakers. If you plan to purchase items from exhibitors, you may want to bring a daypack or a messenger bag with you too.

What is your refund policy?
We are unable to issue refunds. However, you may substitute another man in your place or you can give the ticket to MAN/R3 to be donated on your behalf to a sponsored individual.

Will the sessions be recorded and available for purchase?
We do our best to record all keynote and breakout sessions. You will be given an order form at each event and you will just need to turn it in at the Ministry Alliance Network/R3 booth. The mp3 downloads are generally available within 1 week of the event. We offer special pricing on recordings at the event site, however, the recordings will also be made available for purchase in our online store about a week after the event.

Do the recordings come on cd or cassette?
Sorry, no. Our recordings are all digital mp3 downloads. We offer great instructions on how to retrieve your download and if you have issues with the process, we are only a phone call or email away.

If I buy a recording will I also get the speakers note/handout?
If it is available, yes we will include it.

Will there be exhibitors – what’s available for purchase?
Our exhibitors change frequently with each conference. Not only are we blessed to offer National Ministries like Knights of the 21st Century, Logos, and others, but also we intentionally include local & regional ministries and Christian businesses. We want there to be a wealth of resources that you can interact with to help support the spiritual growth of you as an individual or as a church group. Many of these exhibitors will have resources you may purchase, such as books & study materials, ministry services, clothing & gifts.

Why gather a group?
Great question! There are so many reasons:

  • you get special discounted rates on event tickets
  • Your group registration will be handled personally by our registration concierge
  • But the greatest reasons come through the time together of fellowship, experience together, travel together, eat together, goof off together, etc.

When should I have my group registered? When should I buy tickets?
The sooner the better! We offer special ticket pricing at different times, with the best deal being available at least two months out from the event. Because your group will come through the concierge tables at 866-982-7458, after your initial purchase of group tickets you can continue to add tickets as needed for your group at a reduced cost all the way up to a few days prior to the event.

What are scholarships?
There are many men who participate in local missions-based programs who are unable to afford to attend a conference. MAN/R3 has offered to support the valuable work of these ministries by offering scholarships for men from their programs to attend conferences sponsored by MAN/R3 free of charge. These men are serious about discipleship & about our Savior, and we are blessed by their participation. Previous groups include Teen Challenge, Salvation Army, Union Gospel Mission, Celebrate Recovery, and many other local & regional ministries.

Will the facility be handicapped accessible?
Our host churches are normally larger churches who adhere to strict ADA guidelines. Please call us regarding a specific location and we will be able to better answer the questions.

Will the sessions be translated for the hearing impaired?
At some locations we are able to provide sign language experts to assist. If possible, please notify us at least two weeks prior to the conference that you will need a sign language interpreter.

I noticed the donation button on your website – where does the money go?
100% of your donations go to Ministry Alliance Network/R3, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Funds donated go to cover the costs we incur in offering scholarships to conference attendees, in creating resources, operating our website, providing phone assistance to ministry leaders, and all of the other operational costs associated with the ministry.

Can I just walk in or do I need to pre-register?
Sure you can show up the morning of the event – you are always welcome! We do encourage you to pre-register so we can make sure that there are enough resources (food, beverages, program materials) but also to take advantage of our special early bird pricing. Please remember though, that when you register at the door, we have limited lunch tickets available since we cannot estimate how many walk in registrations we will have ahead of time in order to purchase and prepare the food.
